Description:

The two persons have a stick in each hand and the holy string (yajnopavita) over their chest.

This string is the sign of a young man who is starting his studies.

If he dies at this point of his life, he turns into a ghost (munja)

To appease him a statue like this is put on the altar of the house

After some time a ceremonie is conducted and the ghost turns into a protector (pitra) of the family

Sometimes the statues are submerged in water after this
